BE STILL....(CALMNESS IN TIME OF STORMS) By Pastor Timmy Evans

Psalm 40:10, Mark 4:35-41
One of the thing that a christian cannot avoid is storms
Every storm has specific purposes which is to make us understand how great our God is and to also teach us how to be dependent on God.

the bible made it clear for us in the book of mark 4: 35-41, tat Jesus was actually calm, relaxing while the disciples were acting out of fear, responding to their situation with negative thoughts, Jesus demonstrated to us in this passage the essence of calmness in every situations we may find ourselves.

During every storm God does not want us to panic or be afraid he want us to be still.

Facts about Been still:

# tranquil and quiet;

# To be still is to be calm
# Panic and nervousness kills more than the situations that causes it.
# It is said that when you are drowning in water and you dont know how to swim when you are calm you will float without been hurt.
# Calmness can heal
# Calmness chases away anxieties which in turn give you the ability to have the right perspective of every situations around you.
# Calmness relaxes your mind and helps free flow of blood in your body
# Calmness can promote good spiritual and mental health
# The best instrument of calmness is constant meditations in the word of God.
# When you are nervous you get weak quickly, at the same time everywhere will be dark and there wont be a way forward to see but calmness brings you to a level of seeing solutions even in the midst of negativities.
God want us to be still.

WHY DID GOD SAY YOU SHOULD BE STILL.
God known when you are under pressure your eyes will not be able to see his mercy and what his power can do.

God want us to develop right perspective towards everything around us when you have the right perspective you will be able to walk through life with understanding and wisdom.

God did not promise us a life full of attacks but he promise ways of escapes because he eventually want us to learn how to depend totally on him.

God want you to understand that he's got everything under control' he's got power to do all things but at the same time he is The God of times and seasons, God will not do anything unless its time for him to do it, During our waiting periods God want us to be still(Calm) and know He's Got our backs.

Be still and know that i am God.

YOU NEED TO KNOW.
Your complaints, your anxieties and worries, your pity parties, your self blames and condemnations on your pastors(May be you felt they are not praying enough), Even the truth must be told that even your prayers sometimes cannot make God to change his timing for your change, because he knows the right time for all of us, when we run ahead of our time we will definitely hit the rock, God does not want you to spend the rest of your life in regrets.
He want you to be still, he want you to be calm,

The devil may whisper to you, you will never survive the sickness God want you to be still.

The doctors report may be scary God want you to still
The banks are knocking your door God want you to have the right perspective and be still.

He ask me to tell you no matter what is going wrong in your life, Pray, have faith but above all BE STILL AND KNOW HE IS GOD.
