RUNNING AHEAD OF GOD

RUNNING AHEAD OF GOD ; RUTH 1;1-END, 2 SAMUEL 6;1-7

Some time ago a friend of mine had a dream, in his dream he was actually sitting in a car and the driver was driving so fast until the car crashed, he was lucky enough not to die in the accident. when he told me the only interpretation i could produce for him is that God was trying to warn him against running ahead of him.

In the above bible passage number 1 Naomi and her husband out of inpatience left the land of their heritage to a strange land of moab, one of the enemy of God she lost her husband, lost her 2 sons at the time lost her value and dignity as a christian woman sometime God want us to wait and endure but we would not wait because of the pressure from our wants and fleshly desires.

In the second passage we see uzza who wanted to assist God by touching the ark he was smitten instantly by God. many of us like Uzza think we can assist God either by suggesting to him or by doing things he would not want us to do
for example an enemy is dealing with you as as christian you cannot engage this enemy in physical battles you can only pray to God to fight for you,or maybe you need financial breakthrough you cannot steal otherwise you will loose your dignity and go to jail.

In the place of prayer God want us to demonstrate patience in the face of trials he want us to demonstrate endurance.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO RUN AHEAD OF GOD?

1. To be impatient
2. To lack longsuffering
3. To be dependent on men
4. Feeling God is too slow
5. Looking for shortcut
6. To be desperate,
7. To yied to flesly pressures
8. To disobey God delibrately in order to please someone or for the frear of loosing someting
9. To lean on your own understanding or always wanting to do things your own way
10. Giving God options, you cannot put pressure on God anyone who is not patient to wait is not eligible for divine upliftment

Gods timing is different from ours, God look at things from different angles in a different way, mans 1 hour may be God 1 year, God cannot be pressured or persuaded to work outside his will for us, we must lear to tune our life in line with his will for us.

DANGER OF RUNNING AHEAD OF GOD

1. Loss
2. Untimely death
3. Disappointments and failures
4. defeat
5. Emotional torment
6. unanswered prayers
7. misguided life
8. backsliding

SOME FACTS ABOUT RUNNING AHEAD OF GOD

* God will not change his will in order to please man he will rather replace the man with another man who will obey him

* When you run ahead of God you walk alone with the devil

* When you run ahead of God you hit the wall

* An athlet may not wait for the wistle to blow before he start running, he may run ahead of everyone an take the first position but at the end of the race his effort is wasted because he did not obey the rule of the game, your glory and achievement will disapear when you run ahead of God

* When you go into a career, relationship or ministry without endorsement from God when the chalenges comes you will face it alone that time your prayers becomes a snare unto you.

IN CONCLUSION

God want us to learn the act and science of patience, when you are patient you are a friend of God.
